Smog is recorded at the Moscow weather stations VDNH and Balchug, as well as in the Moscow region — in Naro-Fominsk, Serpukhov, Dmitrov, Kolomna, Domodedovo. Evgeny Tishkovets, the leading specialist of the Phobos Center, reported this on his Telegram channel.
“The geography of smoke from forest fires in the capital region has expanded. In addition to the base weather station VDNKh of Moscow (visibility 5 km), smoke (haze) is noted by the weather stations in the center of the capital – Balchug (visibility 4 km), Naro-Fominsk, Serpukhov, Dmitrov (visibility up to 4 km), Kolomna (visibility 5.5 km), Domodedovo (visibility 4.6 km),” wrote the forecaster.
When will the smog and the smell of burning leave Moscow?
According to the weather forecast, it will be possible to count on a change in wind direction from Monday, August 29. There will be less smoke and smog from the beginning of the week.
According to Tishkovets, the drought and excessive overheating of the air in Moscow will begin to decline on Sunday, August 28. the situation will be determined by the western periphery of the anticyclone. Precipitation is not expected, but there will be much more clouds and excessive air overheating will be reduced.
At the same time, the air temperature will still be high and will exceed the climatic norm by 7-9 degrees.
Earlier in Mosekomonitoring Muscovites were warned about unfavorable weather conditions for the dispersion of pollutants. According to the forecast of meteorologists, the terms of such conditions are set from 18:00 on August 26, 2022 and until 11:00 on August 27, 2022.
