Fugees To Reunite For ‘The Score’ 25th Anniversary Tour This Fall

The Fugees fans are in for a sweet treat as the group comprises Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras will reunite for the 25th anniversary of their classic 1996 album, The Score.

To celebrate the reunion, the group will be undertaking a 12-city international tour starting on September 22nd with an intimate pop-up show in New York City. The location and details are a secret for now.

The other tour dates are set for November and December, when fans will see the trio performing for their fans in Chicago, Oakland, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Miami, Newark, and Washington, DC. Then, they head overseas to perform at shows for their London, Nigerian, and Ghanaian fans.

The group has not been together for 15 years, with the last time they performed together being 2006 when they all decided to go their separate ways to pursue their respective solo careers.

While there have been speculations about the group’s split, Wyclef Jean, in his autobiography, claimed that it was his affair with Lauren Hill that caused the band to break up. Jean was married at the time but had an affair with Lauryn Hill, who was also seeing someone else- the son of Bob Marley– Rohan Marley. Jean claimed that Hill lied about the true paternity of her child, “tricking” him into thinking that the child belonged to him. It turned out that the biological father was Rohan Marley.

Meanwhile, tickets for the show go on sale on September 24th.

The group has had one reunion so far- earlier this year since their split. They celebrated the release of the album on February 13, 1996, via Columbia Records earlier this year. Among the biggest hits from the album are songs like “Ready or Not” and “Killing Me Softly.”

The Score peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and was nominated for a Grammy Award. However, they didn’t win the Grammy for Album of the Year but instead won Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards in 1997.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the project, Lauren Hill celebrated the milestone of the group.

“Thank you to everyone acknowledging the impact of the release of The Score 25 years ago,” she wrote at the time. “The dynamic was not without its complexities, but the art and its impact deserve proper recognition. Special limited edition 25th Anniversary merch collection coming soon.”

Jookabox – Veils Lyrics

Veil!
It’s strong by the atmosphere out
Veil!
It hung from every object
Veil!
Big beam that disappear out
Veil!
Ignoring every offer

Veil grown thin, warm strings that break the sky
Grown thin, recalling of time
Grown thin, a reunion of scattered parts
When we die
When we die

These veils!
You warned us from another side
Veil!
Trails of warm denim elastic
Veil!
Tracks in my brain with a greasy tip
Aw, veils!
Breathe in fog and write your name

Veils grown thin, warm strings that break the sky
Grown thin, recalling of time
Grown thin, a reunion of scattered parts
When we die
When we die

Don’t hold on, look the other way
We know that slime was never meant to stay
Don’t hold on, look the other way
We know that slime was never meant to stay

Don’t hold on, look the other way
We know that slime was never meant to stay
Don’t hold on, look the other way
We know that slime was never meant to stay

Don’t hold on, look the other way
We know that slime was never meant to stay
Don’t hold on, look the other way
We know that slime was never meant to stay

Don’t hold on, look the other way
We know that slime was never meant to stay
Don’t you hold on, look the other way
We know that slime was never meant to stay

Alz X 38 – Hotspot Freestyle Lyrics

[Intro: 38 and Tweeko]
Tweeko
Yeah yeah yeah
It sounds cold
Disrespect Alz
And I’m coming right back

[Verse 1: Alz]
Addicted to codeine, in my cup I’m sipping lean
I don’t know if I’m awake cuh I’m living my dream
Niggas hatin’ on my team but they ain’t seen what we’ve seen
Spent a thousand on some drugs, you can call us rich fiends

[Chorus: 38]
Fell in love with side effects
Pop this perc now I see Stizz again
He got time ’cause he’s f**king with them skengs
They say Shamz remember me, you was just my friend (you was just my friend)
I don’t understand the hating
Ballied up cos I hate this bait ting
Don’t f**k with fakes, separate them
She told me after I’m skating
Touch him no debating
Left him mud irritating

[Verse 2: 38 & Alz]
Grew up on bariis on moos
Hooyo telling me to stop
Relapse and hit the dots
You don’t think I’m f**king last
Green bally right hand
You can’t disrespect Shamz
Keep it real around man
‘Cause I only got fam
It’s an illusion
Me and Alz we fusion
Made me real confusion
He ain’t dead that’s a family reunion
Still disrespect Alz, I’m coming around
For this desire, will take away my frown
Shamz kinda funny, don’t call him no clown
Still breathing but you know I’m finna drown
Lacag that we’re chasing
Mali money making
Racing to the top, nah nah we ain’t waiting
Fake love got me tripping
I’ve been f**king different women
Tryna make it out the system
Niggas know that we’re resisting
Imma do it for my sibling
RIP I f**king miss him (RIP I f**king miss him)

[Chorus: 38]

Maria Hazell – Debut Lyrics

It’s been growing on me, growing on me day and night
Even started missing parts of you I never liked
Wasn’t open, wasn’t honest, wasn’t looking right – til you were out of sight
Even though I said it’s over my love never died

Now I don’t care about the what, who and when
Just why it happened and how
Baby that was all then
And this is now

Don’t call it a comeback
This no reunion
It’s not even like that
That’s not what I’m doing

Gonna
Touch you like I’ve never touched you
Love you like it was our debut

Ain’t no recap
This is a breakthrough
Far from a throwback
More like a debut

Gonna touch you like I’ve never touched you
Love you like it was our debut

We were stupid, we were foolish
We were being young

We were busy doing everything with everyone
Wasn’t thinking about the consequence of having fun, ’til it hurt someone

I ain’t saying who was right
Ain’t saying who was wrong
But please go on you wanna
Put the blame on me
Put the blame on you
Or put that shit to sleep
And start anew

Don’t call it a comeback
This no reunion
It’s not even like that
That’s not what I’m doing

Gonna
Touch you like you I’ve never touched you
Love you like it was our debut

Depeche Mode – Ice Machine Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Running through my head secretly
The shouts of the boys in the factory
I ring you on the telephone silently
Like blood, like the wine in the darkroom scene

[Chorus 1]
The darkroom scene
Darkroom scene

[Verse 2]
A letter, once composed
Seven years long and as tall as a tree
Reading on the wall
Emissions, efficiency

[Chorus 2]
Efficiency
Efficiency

[Bridge]
Resurrect
As a feeling
On my window
Of a past reunion

[Verse 3]
Resurrect, as a feeling
On my window of a past reunion
Vision of a picture like the city
And the air we breathe

[Chorus 3]
The air we breathe
Air we breathe

[Verse 4]
She stood beside me once again
I knew her face
We met before in the street
Recalling all the children dancing at our feet

[Chorus 4]
The dancing feet
Dancing feet

When dawn breaks again, we’ll say our farewells
Our dreams become distant phantoms
The times we were embraced
In the light that chased you
Relying on the warm winds

Heralding spring,
The wild plants start to dance
Summer in Uji,
Such dry, arabesque fields
The round autumn moon,
Risen in celebration
Winter passes,
And I again count the days

Under my eyelids still resides
Vestiges of summer
And those too-distant skies (it was warm)
Holding hands, as we picked the flowers — we sang
Memories of that evening (I wasn’t there)
For three months from August
The clouds fall under the sway of the moon
And I awaken to the fact
That you’ll never come back
I realize I’m alone
I’ll go on a journey to find you
Now my memories within awaken
And now I start to walk
To wherever you are

When dawn breaks again, we’ll say our farewells
Our dreams become distant phantoms
The times we were embraced
In the light that chased you
Relying on the warm winds

Heralding spring,
The wild plants start to dance
Summer in Uji,
Such dry, arabesque fields
The round autumn moon,
Risen in celebration
Winter passes,
And I again count the days

It’s seven o’clock
Near you, beneath the cypress trees
Your arm on my shoulders
With you, a souvenir of the fragrant flowers we saw
If the road leading to our reunion were there —
But that doesn’t matter, you won’t come back again
Do you suppose —
Will these tears stop flowing ?

The tailwinds scream
The silence is broken
Fearing nothing, I move on
Carrying the golden flowers
I’ll see you, and I’ll again know kindness
(Now) The silence is broken
Fearing nothing, I move on
Carrying the golden flowers
I’ll see you, and I’ll again know kindness

Heralding spring,
The wild plants start to dance
Summer in Uji,
Such dry, arabesque fields
The round autumn moon,
Risen in celebration
Winter passes,
And I again count the days

Heralding spring,
We dance and samba
Summer in Uji,
Such dry, arabesque fields
The round autumn moon,
Risen in celebration
Winter passes,
And I again count the days

When dawn breaks again, we’ll say our farewells
Our dreams become distant phantoms
The times we were embraced
In the light that chased you
Relying on the warm winds

Lo Bosworth Doesn’t ”Want Any Association” With Castmates From The Hills

Gregg DeGuire/FilmMagic

Lo Bosworth isn’t interested in reliving the past.

The lifestyle guru, who rose to fame as Lauren Conrad‘s sidekick on Laguna Beach and The Hills, responded to the possibility of a reunion with a resounding “f–ck no!” on the latest episode of her Lady Lovin’ podcast.

Calling the reality TV show “ancient history at this point,” Bosworth said a television executive recently gauged her interest in getting The Hills gang back together. “I was like, ‘F—k no!’” she recalled. “I don’t want any association with any of those people. The dissociation from all those people is what I’m hungry for.”

After MTV cameras documented their senior year of high school, Bosworth and Conrad went on to star on The Hills from 2007-2010 with Audrina PatridgeBrody JennerKristin CavallariHeidi Montag and Spencer Pratt

These days, Bosworth, who recently relocated from New York City back to Los Angeles, is primarily focused on her lifestyle blog TheLoDown

“I’m in a different place with my life,” she explained. “I think that there were some people on the show that have gone on to great success and we’re friends and I’m happy for them. There are others that I probably never would have in my life unless we worked together at one point.”

Bosworth continued, “I think everybody actually feels that way about their coworkers, which is really what the The Hills was. They were all just my f–king coworkers. It was a job. A j-o-b.”

Meanwhile, some of Lo’s former castmates feel differently about coming together for a Hills homecoming. Cavallari recently appeared on Spencer and Heidi’s Make Speidi Famous Again podcast, where she shared, “I would love nothing more than a Hills reunion.”

A Timeline of Billy Corgan and D’arcy Wretzky’s Feud Over the Smashing Pumpkins Reunion

Billy Corgan has feuded with everyone from Deerhunter’s Bradford Cox to Pavement to Anderson Cooper. To Smashing Pumpkins fans, however, his most notable public spat is his ongoing one with bassist D’Arcy Wretzky, which has called into question the potential of a rumored reunion tour featuring the band’s original lineup. The drama between Corgan and Wretzky dates back to 1999, when Corgan kicked Wretzky out of the band. In a Livejournal post, Corgan later explained that his “distrust of her in the studio coupled with her apparent slow descent into insanity and/or drugs (take your pick)” led to their eventual parting ways. The band went on to record Machina/The Machines of God largely without her, with Corgan filling in on bass.

Everything seemed to have been resolved in 2016, when Corgan said in a Facebook Live video that he had “been in communication with D’arcy for the first time in 16 or 17 years, it’s awesome to have my friend back.” He also cautiously hinted at a reunion, while making clear that the band was “not rushing to something, we have to repair some things between us.”

Nearly two years and one Billy Corgan solo album later, a reunion now seems imminent, but, according to Wretzky, she will not be taking part. What follows is a timeline of the reignited feud between Wretzky and Corgan, featuring text messages, passive aggressive Instagram posts, and the dashed hopes of all Smashing Pumpkins fans who hope to one day see the 1988 lineup take the stage again.

Billy Corgan shares an ambiguous Instagram photo featuring himself with original Smashing Pumpkins members James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin, fueling speculation that the band was indeed recording new music with the original lineup. Conspicuously absent? D’arcy Wretzky.

January 21, 2018 — Wretzky confirms Smashing Pumpkins reunion, which she says will happen without her

Wretzky confirms to rock website BlastEcho that a Smashing Pumpkins reunion is indeed happening, but without her participation: “My apologies to all of the Smashing Pumpkins fans out there who are excited about this oncoming reunion tour of the original members of the band. I know this is a huge disappointment for me, as well, but it’s not going to happen [with me],” she says. She also adds that the band decided to go with a different bass player for the reunion tour, which she says will feature Corgan, Iha, and Chamberlin and begin in July.

February 5, 2018 — Corgan seems to write Wretzky out of Machina’s production in Instagram post

Billy Corgan posts another cryptic Instagram post addressing rumors that latter-day Pumpkin Jeff Schroeder would be playing bass on any would-be reunion albums, spurred from leaked photos of what appeared to be a Smashing Pumpkins photoshoot in Los Angeles. In addition to cheekily avoiding the question of exactly who would be playing bass on new Pumpkins material, Corgan doesn’t miss an opportunity to take a swipe at Wretzky, referring to her as a “flaxen Saxxon” and insinuating that she did not play bass on Machina.

February 11, 2018 — Wretzky says Billy Corgan offered, then rescinded, band contract

A few days after the Smashing Pumpkins website was updated with a mysterious countdown clock, Wretzky expands upon her original statements about her exclusion to BlastEcho. She mentions several text messages from Corgan. One reportedly says Iha was also not present for studio sessions, and another says that Rick Rubin–who was previously rumored to be producing the new Smashing Pumpkins album–would only be “involved a little but not the whole thing.”  She also claimed that Corgan extended a contract offer to her, Iha, and Chamberlin, which was agreed upon by all parties before Wretzky’s offer was revoked a month later. Although she was not certain if the contract remained in place for Iha and Chamberlin, she was under the impression that it did.

February 12, 2018 — Smashing Pumpkins release official statement

Smashing Pumpkins release an official response to Wretzky’s claims that she was offered a contract to rejoin the band that was later revoked. The statement reads: “To that, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin, and William Corgan haven’t played a show with D’arcy Wretzky for over 18 years. But it’s not for a lack of trying. For despite reports, Ms. Wretzky has repeatedly been invited out to play with the group, participate in demo sessions, or at the very least, meet face-to-face, and in each and every instance she always deferred. We wish her all the best, and look forward to reconnecting with you all very soon.”

February 13, 2018 — Wretzky releases Corgan texts

The next day, Wretzky shares screenshots of her alleged texts with Corgan, in which he gives updates on the new record (“We’ve got 13 demos so far”) and seems to offer her some form of involvement with the reunion (“…we want you involved in the tour however you’d like to be involved. I think it will mean A LOT to fans if you are up onstage every night”). After Wretzky gives an update on a shoulder injury, which she says will be “healed in 4-6 weeks,” Corgan seems to retreat from his offer, saying “we also have to balance the forces at play. I know you don’t agree, nor do you have to.” He adds that “there is no room for error” on the tour.

From there, things really begin to disintegrate. Corgan compares Wretzky’s potential role to that of original Guns N’ Roses drummer Stephen Adler on their “Not In This Lifetime” tour, when the drummer only appeared on a few live songs. In the next screenshot, Wretzky says  she is “pissed off” and that Corgan is “throwing something away that is so precious…and you know I’m not talking about me.” Corgan replies with the biting remark, “The answer is you deserve to be on a t shirt if someone wants to buy it… But if you don’t want to be on a t-shirt then the kids are happy to buy something else.”

And that brings us up to date. Alternative Nation says they will be running the “first in-depth interview with D’arcy in the last 20 years” sometime Tuesday (February 13) or Wednesday (February 14). Based on his most recent Instagram posts, Corgan appears to be enjoying the simple pleasures of Disneyland with his son, unfazed by the feud.

The Spice Girls Reunite in One “Exciting” Photo

Don’t get your platform sneakers and your Union Jack dress yet!

Victoria Beckham, who was first known to the world as “Posh Spice”, is putting to rest the rumor (that she pretty much started by posting a photo of the fab five together) that she and the rest of the gals would be going on tour. On Feb. 2, Becks, Melanie “Mel C” ChisholmEmma BuntonGeri Halliwell and Melanie “Mel B” Brown all sat down together for a lunch in London—and the Internet went crazy with delight, hoping they’d be hitting the road together soon.

But earlier today, the popstar-turned-designer made it clear: the Spice Girls are not touring.

“I’m not going on tour. The girls aren’t going on tour,”  said to Vogue during a preview of her autumn/winter 2018 collection, which shows in New York on Sunday morning, at New York Fashion Week.

Spice Girls Through the Years

Following the lunch, the women said in a statement: “We have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon catching-up and reminiscing about the amazing times we have spent together. We are always overwhelmed at how much interest there is across the whole world for The Spice Girls. The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together. We all agree that there are many exciting possibilities that will once again embrace the original essence of The Spice Girls, while reinforcing our message of female empowerment for future generations.”

But while many hoped that the meet-up (and the resulting statement) meant that the band was getting back together and getting on the road, it seems as that’s not so—for now.

However, the mother of four gushed over her lunch last week, telling Vogue, “It was so great to see the girls. We had such a fun lunch. It was really, really, really lovely. I still speak to them all individually, but for us all to get together was really lovely.”

As for a potential reunion in the future? Don’t rule it out—but it’s not happening any time soon.

Beckham explained, “There’s something so strong in the message of what the Spice Girls stood for. What is that in the future? What does that look like? We were just bouncing ideas around. Brainstorming.”

However, it’s fashion that she’s all about these days—not being a pop icon. While at the preview, she said, “This is what I do.”

The trendsetter also made it known that she feels like the ’90s girl group did a lot of good in their day and thinks that the pop party of five would be a positive influence for children.

“It’s a positive thing,” she said. “You know, there’s so much bad stuff going on, and the Spice Girls were about fun and celebrating individuality. I think there’s so much that the brand can do, and it’s such a positive message for young kids. What does that look like in the future? It’s not me in a cat-suit.”

What about a menswear-inspired catsuit? Oh come on Posh, say you’ll be there!

Outlander Finally Reunited Claire and Jamie and You Bet It Was Sexy

Frickin’ finally.

After what feels like the longest wait in the world, Outlander‘s Claire and Jamie have officially reunited. It certainly wasn’t what Claire was expecting, and as book fans, it was most of the things we were expecting. It was sexy, it was awkward, it was more awkward and less sexy than we would have liked, but we get it. 20 years is a long damn time, and you can’t just jump right back into most things.

We first saw a bit of Jamie’s morning leading up to the shock of his life, but it was mostly a madame telling him he needed a woman’s touch, and then he went off to print some propaganda with his coworker Geordie.

Once he recovered from his fainting, the first thing he said to Claire was, “You’re real,” and then once he realized he fell on an ale pot, he promptly (OK, cautiously and shyly) took off his pants. What a great start we were off to!

Even the buildup to their second first kiss felt like the longest wait ever. It was like they were both middle schoolers who don’t know how to do this and, you know, adults who have only seen ghosts and dreams of each other for 20 years. It w as some good kissin’ though.

Unfortunately for all of us, the really sexy stuff had to wait. Geordie returned, and upon finding his boss canoodling pantsless with some lady before it was even noon, he felt the need to quit. Jamie didn’t seem too concerned, but he also didn’t seem too fond of Geordie.

“It’s very fine to see you again, Claire,” Jamie said as he pulled on some new pants. Seemed like kind of a casual thing to say in this situation, but before we had time to ponder it, Jamie suddenly remembered the bairn. Claire handed over a little photo album (to a man who’s never seen a photo before), and he had to pull out the most adorable reading glasses in the world in order to see it.

He thought Brianna was a terrible name, was shocked at Brianna wearing something called a bikini next to a boy, and suddenly he got all weird because he had something to confess. He’s got a son!

Of course we knew this, but we didn’t know he was going to tell her so soon. In the book, it’s not even Jamie who tells her, and that’s not until much later in the story. We’ll get to that major change in a minute, but first there’s some stuff to do.

For one, Claire had to reunite with Fergus, who’s now like 30 and wants to know where Claire has been for 20 years (er, she went to live with relatives when she thought everyone was dead), and then we had to meet Mr. Willoughby. Mr. Willoughby (not his real name) is Jamie’s Chinese friend who gets into a lot of trouble in bars because he likes to lick womens’ elbows.

Then Jamie took Claire to a brothel, where he’s got a room on hold, but not in that way. He just kind of lives there sometimes because there’s food, a bed, and privacy, and it’s better than his cot at the printshop. Jamie warned Claire that they hardly knew each other now, but he still wanted her if she wanted him. And of course she wanted him (because what a waste that trip would have been if she didn’t), and things almost got sexy until they were interrupted…again…by dinner at the door.

So they sat down to talk to each other about their lives, and then finally, when no one could take it anymore, they began undressing each other in slow motion. The slowest motion. A collar undone over here. A neck scarf over there. Take off a jacket. Undo your hair.

After what felt like ages, the pants came off. Claire’s very historically incorrect zipper was unzipped. “Christ,” Jamie said upon the sight of Claire’s body. Soon they were both standing there naked, talking about how scared they were. It was…so much.

After some awkward nose-hitting and some laughter, it was time to shut the windows to spare the neighbors.

Claire and Jamie lazed around in bed for quite a while, talking about Jamie’s smuggling business and other important bits of their lives. The next morning, they were a little too busy for breakfast, so while Jamie had some things to deal with, Claire found breakfast with the women who worked in the brothel. The Madame eventually found her and sent her back up to Jamie’s room, where she found a scary man waiting for her.

He called her a whore, and of course the episode ended just as he attacked her. Super cool. Always love a cliffhanger with Claire in danger!

While we worry a lot (because we don’t yet have a screener for the next episode!), scroll on down to get the scoop on that major change from the books.

Episode 6: Jamie’s Secret

In the book, Jamie does not rush to tell Claire about his son, Willie. In fact, he’s not the one to tell her at all, but EP Maril Davis explained that Jamie just had too many secrets to keep them all.

“Ron [Moore] felt very strongly that once Jamie and Claire get back together, there’s obviously a lot they haven’t told each other, and with [Jamie’s other big secret], you know, there were so many things that he didn’t tell her that that became such a big thing that it seemed odd…”

After certain events later on this season, Claire and Jamie make a pact to tell each other no more lies, so the minds behind the show thought it was “too much” for Jamie to continue to keep Willie a secret.

“[Moore] just felt like when they’re discussing their daughter, he would also blurt out the thing about Willie,” Davis said. “It’s not the time to talk about anything, because they’re obviously rushing off and going to do other things, but he felt very strongly that it would be hard for that to come out later if he’d also promised her that he would be forthcoming about other things after the marriage.”

And honestly, as jarring as that sudden admission was to watch, we’re pretty glad it happened.

Episode 5: Back to Boston

In tonight’s episode, Claire and Brianna both went back to Boston, where Brianna struggled to adjust to regular life after learning who her real father was. In the book, only Claire goes back to Boston to get her life in order before going through the stones. Brianna and Roger even follow Claire to the stones, but in the show, Brianna and Roger stayed behind and we didn’t even see Claire’s journey back in time. EP Maril Davis says there are a few reasons for that change.

“One, we’ve seen that journey through stones with Claire before,” she tells us. “This is not the first time we would have seen it. Two, the location where we go and film the stones is not easy to get to, and sometimes it’s difficult if you’re only doing one scene there. … I mean, creative is always our first guidepost in terms of obviously, if we think creatively it works, we’ll push for it. But I think this time, because I think we felt like we’d seen that before and you know, the logistical issue, combined with the fact that we wanted to put a little spin on it with bringing Roger out to Boston instead of taking the ladies back out to Scotland, we thought was an interesting little twist as well, so I think all of those factors combined for us to do it this way and do something a little different and put a little spin on the story.”

Episode 4: Brianna

While Brianna doesn’t get to be the protagonist in very many scenes in the book, she gets some time here to start to dissect how she feels about what’s going on—the news about her father, the reality that they may find her real father, and the fact that she may lose her mother to him forever.

We’ll see a lot more of Brianna in episode five, and Davis says this is a perspective that the writers didn’t want to overlook.

“Brianna and Claire have always had a tough relationship. It’s certainly loving, but it seems like Claire has always held Brianna kind of at arm’s length. And Brianna’s always kind of wondered why and has always been closer to Frank, and to find out the reason for that is because your father was somebody else, and maybe every time your mother looks at you she thinks about your real father and that is a very complicated relationship,” she says. “To then question your own identity and what that all means was important to us, because if it was glossed over in the books, we felt that was something that was so interesting to portray and such an interesting character beat for that character, to see those emotions.”

Episode 2: Claire and Frank

Nobody’s a huge fan of Frank Randall, but you have to admit that you kinda feel bad for him this season. Poor guy finally found his wife after she’s been missing for three years, and she’s pregnant with the baby of a man from the 1700s, who she’s desperately in love with. That sucks!

There are more scenes in the show featuring Claire and Frank than there were in the book (at least in this particular book), both in this episode and in the episodes to come.

“Book Frank is a little different than TV show Frank,” EP Maril Davis explained to us. “And you’re never going to root for Claire to stay with Frank, you just aren’t. I mean as soon as she meets Jamie, it’s like Frank’s off the table. But the thing from the books that we really enjoyed and wanted to continue in the show is that Frank was an outstanding father to Brianna. And you know, Claire makes the ultimate sacrifice to stay with Frank for her daughter. I think if she had come back and she wasn’t pregnant, I don’t think she and Frank would ever have been together or stayed together, but I think she knows that it’s a certain time and place and Brianna needs a father, and if it can’t be Jamie, she wants Brianna to have a loving man in her life, and Frank, for me, is one of the tragic figures of Outlander because he loves Claire desperately, but that love is not reciprocated.”

Episode 1: The Battle

Forget watching the Battle of Culloden. Thanks to tonight’s opening scenes, we were in that battle.

“It’s wonderful, it places you in the action, and obviously it’s a memory of Jamie’s, but he’s sort of coming to and remembering the moments that happened there, and of course he meets Black Jack Randall in the midst of the melee and they have this great sort of finishing chapter to their relationship,” Sam Heughan told us of the scenes, which he says took a couple of weeks to film.

“Doing it in flashback like that gives it a slightly surreal, unworldly kind of atmosphere to it,” Tobias Menzies added. “It’s kind of a more interesting way of doing it than just straight on, kind of battle sequence.”

Starz

Episode 1: Brianna’s Birth

Watching that jerk of a doctor force Claire to be knocked out for the birth was infuriating, but it was historically accurate.

“Up until the late ’40s, early ’50s, childbirth was mostly done with midwives and it was very much a female thing, and it was only in the ’50s that it became much more medical, and it started being treated as some sort of an operation,” Caitriona Balfe told us. “So women, they were sort of taken out of the process completely. They were told to just sort of lie there, shut up, and do what they’re told. So it was really interesting to have Claire—obviously she’s coming to it having already lost a child, and she had a lot of nerves about it. She was worried about it. So to have this man sort of come in and dismiss any concerns she might have or any knowledge that she might have, or desires…it was pretty frustrating for her.”

“The Journey Had to Be Earned”

Jamie and Claire are apart for now, and while many of us are going to be waiting with bated breath for their reunion, don’t discount the stories that need to be told before they find their way back to each other. Executive producer Maril Davis says their separation was a major concern going into season three, but the writers quickly found that there’s a lot of excellent story to be found in their separate journeys.

“I think going into it you do worry that these two people who are the backbone of our show not being together, that’s what makes this show very special, is their relationship,” she told us. “But quite honestly, while we do all prefer having them together, I do think we were pleasantly surprised how well the stories worked on their own, because each have such strong stories, and the reason it works is that they have such a longing for each other. And there’s a despair there. There’s a hole missing because they’ve lost the loves their lives. So I think that’s actually what makes Claire’s story with Frank so interesting, because it’s like there’s a ghost in the room, and then also for Jamie, he’s like a walking ghost himself, because it’s almost like he’s missing an arm or leg, because he doesn’t have the person who makes him whole. So we just felt like those stories, while at first we were concerned with how that would be, I think we’re all pleasantly surprised and thrilled about how well this turned out.”

“The journey had to be earned,” she continued. “They are separated, and then you feel like if it’s a chapter before they’re together again, you’re not living their lives with them separated. Even as a book reader, I think while you want them desperately to be back together, you appreciate that time that’s apart because it makes their reunion all that much sweeter.”

Changes Are Coming

While this season follows the third book in the series, “Voyager,” there are going to be a lot of changes from book to screen—some minor, some major. But they’re all in service of making the show as good as possible.

“We’re never going to be able to make the books exactly as they are,” Davis explained. “There’s so much detail in the books, and there’s certain things we’ve always said that read well but sometimes don’t translate well to screen. So for us the perfect balance is keeping all the beats of the book and keeping the spine, but also infusing into it things that we feel are interesting or want to see, or maybe filling in the gaps in certain places.”

“Jamie’s story is laid out very well, and with specific tentpole moments and Claire’s story was a little more difficult, because not all of her story with Frank is told in this book, so we did kind of have to add and just wanted Jamie and Claire to be on a similar emotional journey over those 20 years that they’re apart.”

Trust us, that journey’s going to be good.

Outlander airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on Starz.

Watch Tiny Sings For T.I. and Heiress At Xscape Concert

T.I. and Tiny’s marriage maybe over but that doesn’t mean that they are done with each other, after all they have kids together.

During her Xscape reunion concert in Detroit on Tuesday night, Tameka “Tiny” Kottle sings for her soon to be ex-husband T.I. and their baby girl Heiress while the other members of the group serenades their significant other. The group performed their classic single “Do you Want To.” The show was sold old and it seems fans couldn’t wait for the 1990s all girl R&B group to reunite.

Tiny, 41, invited her estranged husband and their daughter Heiress on stage to sit on a stool while she serenades both of them in a touching performance. The other ladies in the group were touchy-feely with their husbands but Tiny kept a small distance between herself and TIP. The pair, who have been married since 2010, are going through a tough divorce after a bitter split last year marred by allegations of infidelity on both sides.

The video footage of the performance triggered more talks of a reunion between one of the most beloved couples in hip hop over the last couple of years. Fans on social media have been calling for them to get back together but so far this is the first clear sign that a rekindling of their marriage is a strong possibility. Tiny already served T.I. with divorce docs, but it’s unclear if he sign off on them yet. The couple also said that they are working out their co-parenting details.

Nakakamiss Mag Lasing (Nakakamiss Parody) – Bhebheboyz

Lyrics of Nakakamiss Mag Lasing (Nakakamiss Parody) – Bhebheboyz

yung iba may hepa, yung iba may TB
(nakakamiss mag lasing)

asan na ba yung mug?
teka muna time pers
teka muna time pers
asan na ba yung mug?
salamat at sana makakatagay nako

baka gusto mo pang isa
yoko nang shumat nyan, yoko nang shumat nyan
bakit ba nagmamatigas ka

sana naman tigilan ng kagaguhan
tignan mo nangyari sa kapatid ni pare
labas masok sa ospital yan
wag mo na kong patagayin
kahit na anong mangyari wag mo sakin ibigay
dahil ang liver ko’y may butas

Chorus:
pano masasabing masaya?
nakaka miss mag lasing

uy joey
bakit puro alak iniisip mo

pano masasabing masaya?
nakaka miss mag lasing

dahil nakaka miss maglasing

nakakamiss mag lasing
