The leaders of the states that have decided to supply weapons to Ukraine must be held accountable as war criminals. This was stated by State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.

“The leaders of a number of European states, led by Germany, can drag their people into big problems. By supplying weapons to Ukraine, they become a party to the conflict,— he wrote in Telegram.

Volodin noted that European leaders did not react in any way to the death of people in the House of Trade Unions in Odessa in 2014 and did nothing to protect civilians in Donbass. Nevertheless, now they are “doing everything to make the Slavs die in Ukraine.”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on April 30 that the US and NATO should stop supplying weapons to Ukraine and ammunition if they are interested in resolving the crisis.

He noted that NATO, while publicly expressing support for Ukraine, is doing everything to prevent the completion of the operation by reaching political agreements between Moscow and Kyiv.

Sergei Koshelev, Deputy Director of the North America Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in turn, pointed out that the Russian military may consider shipments of US and NATO weapons in Ukraine as legitimate targets.

In response, US national security adviser Jake Sullivan said that Ukraine needs military assistance for protection and that the United States, despite the “Russian threats”, will continue to provide it.

The United States, the EU and other countries began to supply weapons to Ukraine even before the start of the Russian military operation. On April 21, Washington promised a new package of military aid to Kyiv. It will include 72 howitzers and 72 towing vehicles, 144 thousand artillery shells and 121 tactical drones.

The Kremlin noted that Western weapons cannot “stop the offensive”; and will not prevent Russia from achieving the goals of the special operation.
